Amazon.com Review A great choice for the busy bartender, this Hamilton Beach commercial blender offers durability, power, and no-frills function at its best. The base features a 3/8-horsepower motor with thankfully simple operation and two metal toggles--one to set the machine to high or low, and one to turn it on and off. The blender's cutting assembly features a rugged metal base, a four-angle stainless steel blade, and a replaceable heavy-duty neoprene clutch to extend the life of the motor. Made from durable polypropylene plastic, the container holds 44 ounces (1-1/4 liters), is clearly marked in cups and liters, and rests stably on the countertop. Its flexible cover fits securely and includes a removable clear 2-ounce filler cap. Though not intended to crush ice, the unit easily blends smaller ice cubes with liquid ingredients. It is suitable for hot or cold drinks, crushed ice cocktails, smoothies, and soups. Assembled, it stands 6-1/2 by 15 by 6-1/2 inches. Hamilton Beach recommends washing the container by hand and includes a two-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

Owned for 10 years June 7, 2008 G. melhaff (Olympia, Wa USA) After wearing out a couple of your typical dept store blenders, I wanted one that would last with daily use. My wife and I started a diet (body for life) which involved making multiple protein shakes every day. I stayed on the diet for a number of years and we still have this blender and it still works just as well as when we bought it. The only negative on the earlier model was a smaller stainless steal container, which although is indestructable also got very cold which was annoying and also was too small. In fact, that's why I'm shopping is to find a larger replacement container (such as the 44 oz) for it. Bottom line though is this blender never wears out. I've had to order replacement blade assembly before after years of use but that's likely just normal maintenance item and was inexpensive.
misleading description May 27, 2008 Brandon C. Ensley (Spokane, WA) The blender you see in the picture is not the actual one that you receive. The HBB908 is the correct name but the blender pictured is the HB04-0032. The 908 is made out of plastic as opposed to the one in the picture which is stainless steal as the description states. I have owned the blender in the picture for many years and was buying another one for my other house. I was very dissapointed to open the box and find the cheap plastic blender. I have tried contacting amazon but it is very difficult to reach them. Look at other online stores for a proper description of the HB908 as that is the actual one you will receive.
a decent cheap blender September 20, 2007 C. Nielsen (San Jose, CA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Does a decent job with unfrozen items, but frozen items tend to jam up and require frequent manual stirring (thus creating a mess). Being that i bought it for smoothies, it makes it a bit of a headache. Blending only a few ounces at a time works, but thats a headache too. My little cuisinart chopper does a better job.

We have had this blender for about 2 weeks. It replaced a 12-year old Hamilton Beach basic model blender that had a motor going out. This one is a no frills blender that seems to be very well made, and looks good in the kitchen. Hopefully it will last as good or better than the one it replaced.

This blender is able to make crushed iced drinks in seconds with no bits of ice or frozen friuts found in the drinks. It has toggle speed and on/off switches that are easy even for wet fingers to operate. Best purchase (for the price) I have made in a long time. I use it daily.
