Amazon.com Review This is the blender of the future. It performs all the traditional blending tasks (crushing ice for margaritas, thinning ice cream) plus it can be used like a food processor (mincing garlic, pureeing peppers). The wide jar is rounder and squatter than old-style blenders, which makes it easier to reach in and scrape the sides (when the blender is off!). To reduce splatters of strawberry daiquiri, the Step Start feature starts blending slowly, then picks up to the chosen speed. This blender also comes with a booklet containing 75 recipes--my favorite is the Frosty Chocolate Raspberry Latte. --Dana Van Nest Editor's Choice:KitchenAid's five-speed blender has a number of functions that set it above the crowd as our choice for best blender under $100. It starts with the five speed settings and the pulse function, which works at any of the speeds--a really nice touch. The blender's 40-ounce glass jar has a squat shape, making it more manageable than taller blenders, and comes completely apart.

Works BUT coupler broke in 2 yrs March 6, 2008 mamta (Dublin, OH United States) This blender is great when its working! the coupler(the rubber thing which spins the blade) started to wear out and now its completely torn and can't run the blades!
I called the CS and they say I need to order from a service center which is 100miles away from where I live...
My oster blender which I paid $15 is working from 9 years! but this one broke with in 2yrs.
KitchenAid KSB5 5-Speed Blender, Empire Red February 20, 2008 Brigitte Penson (oakhurst, california USA) This blender is very powerful and excactly like advertised. I really like it and use it alot. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Kitchen Aid blender - fantastic! December 3, 2007 Monty Gordon (Memphis TN) Love the Kitchen Aid blender. Arrived promptly & works great! Enjoying the nice bright red color also.
Rubber coupling failed after one-year November 22, 2007 JEM (Buena Park, CA USA) I should have listened to the other one-star reviews. Yep, the rubber coupling began to break off (the rubber teeth on the base of the blender that the top rests on--the part the turns the blades in the top). The rest of the blender is in great condition. Very sad. We'll be buying a different blender. (We use this for making frozen fruit smoothies 5-6 days per week.) Poor internal design.
Big let down!!! November 17, 2007 J. Young (WI) I purchased this blender and the 1st few times I used it, I loved it! Then... when I was making a margarita all the teeth broke off at once! I don't think I used it more than 10 times!(I owned it less than 60 days) I tried to return it to Boston Store but without the box or a receipt they would not accept it. I may purchased the new model of the KitchenAid Blender so I can get the contact for customer service and maybe they will be more helpful.
